About Tom

Hi, I'm Tom. 👋 I've spent the last 6+ years at Squarespace building and running our SEO program, starting as the company's second-ever SEO hire. Since mid-2021, I’ve been the strategic leader for Squarespace growth initiatives around organic search and AI visibility.

Before Squarespace, I created custom SEO strategies for enterprise clients as a part of Conductor’s professional services team, working across the financial services, B2B SaaS, retail, and healthcare industries. I also spent my early career learning the ropes as a Senior SEO Analyst at Jet.com, a Walmart eCommerce brand with more than 5 million products.

I fell into SEO by accident. My background in journalism and PR led me to a freelance role at Bleacher Report, where I covered the San Francisco 49ers for two seasons as a Featured Columnist. Learning SEO fundamentals to get more eyes on my articles was the gateway and I never looked back.

Outside of work, you’ll find me playing guitar, reading fiction paperbacks, or bemoaning the latest New York Mets loss. I’m currently based in New York City.
